Here’s the story of a lovely lady, Heather Buen, and her foodie travel blog “Let’s Go Heather.” I am not a newbie to the blogging scene. I having been blogging since 2010. I own and edit Dallas Single Mom, Dallas Single Dad and now Dallas Single Parents. Those award winning blogs still exist with an audience that encompasses an overall reach of about 59,168 readers. Those blogs are a valuable voice in the single parent community of Dallas-Fort Worth, where I happen to call home and hang my hat.

Over the years I have accumulated a ton of travel experiences that I have not had the chance to explore intimately with my audiences. It is why I am here and why I believe in life reinvention. I was born and raised on Maui, Hawaii. I attended college at Hawaii Pacific University. My summers were spent jumping off the rock at Waimea Bay, traveling with my family around all that Hawaii has to offer. In college I spent my days and nights along Waikiki either partying till the sun came up, watching the sunset on Waikiki Beach or enjoying Crown royal shots at Duke’s. All of these experiences are the lifeblood of who I am. I moved to Texas in 2001 where I got to travel everywhere in the job I had. Once I had a family, traveling stopped for a bit until I started blogging. We all evolve and as my kids have gotten older and I have gotten older our tastes and experiences change. I am no longer chasing diapers but shuttling kids to school and teaching them about their culture and the cultures of others around us. We are more conscious of the world around us and I want to be able to teach that to my children and my audiences one trip or one recipe at a time.
Whether we are exploring a Texas style safari, mining for precious stones, or sunbathing in a far away land the opportunity exists for adventure, learning and inspiration. I am a firm believer in having pillars of foundation for my life. I write about it on my online resume over at heatherbuen.com. Over at Dallas Single Mom it is a pillar of joy for me to help Re-invigorate the lives of Dallas’ single moms. Likewise here at Let’s Go Heather, the goal is to help Gen X women and older break down the barriers and reinvent the way they look at life via travel, food, culture and exploration. We bring together a new form of feminism by engaging with other cultures in travel and we have the ability to inspire change as new thought leaders. You may have gone through a divorce and/or the end of a committed relationships creating a significant change in your life. I have gone through divorce and I have also found love. I have experienced rock bottom and I was able to rise again – these cornerstones in your life are sometimes the ashes from the Phoenix that symbolize your life. Don’t leave it to chance.
Let’s Go Heather is a Travel Foodie Culture Lifestyle Blog – exploring culinary adventures via travel through her the eyes of a Hapa Haole transplant from Hawaii now living in Texas. For so long I may have taken my cultural roots for granted in how I see the world. Now the web has allowed me to share my perspective of once being the little fish from Hawaii swimming in a very big pond in Texas.
