Some other travel apps that I like are of course:
Uber – The popular app allows you to get a cab or a ride via your mobile phone location. I have found this app very useful when traveling. It’s not available everywhere but definitely a great app you can use. Use my Uber promo code, wlz4w, and get $20 off your first Uber ride. Redeem it at https://www.uber.com/invite/
AirBnB – With three children, being able to rent someone’s house or a studio apartment does wonders. It allows us to have the flexibility to learn about the area from a local and we can cook our own food. I have used this and have saved a lot of money and headache in the process. when you sign up with my referral code.
Waze – This cute navigation app is a must. As more people use it, drivers can notify others about police, accidents, road hazards and more. There are a lot of navigation apps out there but Waze is one I use the most.
Yelp – Sometimes I need a quick restaurant recommendation or need to find coffee quick. I use this while traveling. Not everyone likes Yelp Reviews but I use this app a lot. I managed to find a restaurant open on Thanksgiving Day in Raleigh, NC. Helpful when you are hungry.
Swarm – Check in and find tips on a variety of places with this app. This app is from Foursquare, the Swarm app. See who wants to hangout nearby and check in. I still like Foursquare for tips and recommendations on the fly.
What’sApp – I use this messaging app internationally to save money. It’s easy to use and convenient.
Google Hangouts – Video chat with family and friends via a Google Hangout. The kids and I use this with Grandma. This can also be used internationally without tapping into large international usage for calls.
